THE WONDERER RETURNS

I'm back from abroad, and what a difference 3 weeks makes.

Even after a mammoth 1800 mile trek across Australia, and 34 hours of air travel, i'm ready to get back into the swing of work life. Thank you all for being patient whilst i was away. I'm now back in the studio ready and raring to go!

BIRTHDAY

It's my 32nd birthday today!

I usually shy away from mentioning my birthday, but after receiving a really beautiful bouquet of flowers and a delicious box of chocolates this morning (which have now all disappeared...how did that happen?!) i couldn't resist featuring them. My mum and i treated ourselves to a tasty lunch in Broadway, and i shopped for a few ingredients for my birthday meal at the sweetest delicatessens. I just love that place. Now for the best bit....baking!

This is my most recent wedding ring pillow commission featuring an all Ivory Primrose with a hint of burgundy as the underlay petals. How clean, elegant and fabulous it looks against shades of pink, cream, and ivory to lift. It really is such a lovely colour combination for a wedding.

How scary to think that just over a year ago my gorgeous friend celebrated her first baby shower. And a few weeks ago we wished her beautiful little girl a 'Happy 1st Birthday!!'

To celebrate her first ever birthday, i designed a colourful mini floral pillow, which, according to the fab pictures she absolutely loves! Her happy little face really make me smile!!!

I really enjoyed creating this style pillow, and thought how lovely it would be as a unique gift for any occasion. It's inspired me to design a little collection with alternative colours, style flowers and lots of fab patterned fabric!

A ROMANTIC WEDDING DAY

I was a guest at a friends wedding last weekend, and loved every minute of it!

The happy bride and groom married in a beautiful village church, which is believed to be over 500 years old. Following the ceremony we made our way to a fabulously decorated converted barn where the wedding reception was held. I tried to capture the essence of the wonderful day, the happy couple, the stunning bride, the sweet smelling flowers, delicious cupcakes and one heck of a cheese cake!

To be honest, I could have added plenty more photos, but here are just a few of my favourite wedding day moments.

Some have compared Prince William's marriage to Kate Middleton as a Disney Fairytale, and here you can see just why...

THE ROYAL WEDDING - LACE DETAIL

Lace played an important part of the Royal Wedding. The intricate embroidery featured heavily in the stunning dress, with it having a lace applique bodice, skirt, and veil.
The magnificent wedding cake also mirrored fine lace detail in the hugely intricate icing.

ZEBRA PRINT WEDDING THEME

I kindly received an email announcing the feature of my wedding ring pillow on hitched.co.uk.
The Ivory Primrose Ring Pillow was designed in 2010 for a South African bride. She requested a touch of Africa as part of the pillow, so we incorporated zebra print ribbons to tie His and Her wedding rings.

'Nicola had the ring cushion commissioned and made by Anna Whitford. It was really beautiful and now has a home on a chair in Nicola and Kierons bedroom. It was a first request for Anna to use the Zebra theme, so Nicola supplied the zebra style ribbon to complete the ring cushion and have it match the theme of the wedding perfectly.'

'Nicola and Kieron had a truly magical wedding day in August 2010 surrounded by 80 of their closest family and friends. Their wedding had a fun and bright zebra print theme running through out the day to highlight Nicola's South African childhood memories.'

POPULAR WEDDING RING PILLOWS

Wedding season is fast approaching, and with this are lots of wedding ring pillow commissions. I've been designing a range of different styles and colours for brides these past few weeks, and it seems the Primrose in Spring colours are a popular choice at the moment.

The ring pillows are to be carefully packed this weekend, and sent abroad with a little wedding card from myself to say a big 'thank you' and 'all the best' for the special day!

THE SHOW

The show is finally over. 3 days of meeting lots of buyers and a number of international distributors. Thank goodness for friendly neighbours, they really made the 3 days so enjoyable.

A successful show is now followed by major organisational skills packing and dispatching goods as prompt as possible.

Setting up the stand didn’t take too long, as we managed to paint and attach the shelving beforehand. My partner built a very handy corner table too, which was perfect for storing our catalogues and other bits and pieces.

Our very feminine looking stand with hanging patterned bunting and butterflies. We also featured a very small range of our licensed gift ware, which caught a lot of attention.

3 of our greeting cards were displayed as part of the GCA ‘Card Feature’ area, which was great to see. We’re back home now feeling exhausted. Back to work today so no rest until the weekend!

TRADE SHOW

It's that time again. The first of our trade shows starts in less that 2 days! I'm very excited as it means the launch of our 'Cherish' wedding card range.

Our sister company Rosanna Rossi Greetings launched a beautiful collection of wedding and anniversary cards last year, and due to its popularity, we are releasing an additional six cards to the collection.

Alongside this is the launch of our beautiful licensed Cherish wedding stationery and gifts.
The wedding stationery range includes a ‘Love Birds’ wedding planner, ‘Wedding Day’ fund box and a stunning Wedding Album and Guest Book. All products feature our adorable love birds surrounded by cherry blossom, glitter and finished with white pearl lace edging.

There's not much more to do other than head to London to set up our stand! If you are attending Top Drawer 2011 please come and say hello! We're on stand F15.

A VINTAGE WEDDING THEME

The fab I Do wedding planner located in Yorkshire UK, has featured my cream gerbera wedding ring pillow as part of their pretty vintage mood board (pictured below.)

I absolutely love vintage, and this was a lovely mix of old and new. Thank you for the inclusion, it looks lovely and works so well with vintage!

GOODBYE 2010

Wow what a year! 2010 has been hard work. I've worked my socks off designing wedding ring pillow commissions, and whilst doing so, i've met some really lovely brides who have been so kind to share their special day with us. There are a small selection of images on my wedding album page. You can also view one of my favourite dreamy weddings here, and a fabulous zebra print inspired wedding here.

These are just a small handful of wedding pictures, however i love them all, and am so pleased to have been part of the bride and grooms wedding day.

As you know, alongside designing wedding ring pillows, i also design and publish greeting cards under the name of R osanna Rossi. The business really took off in January with the launch of Rosanna Rossi gift-ware and stationery products. Since then our greeting card collections have grown significantly. In January 2011 we are launching a beautiful new range of wedding and anniversary cards titled 'Cherish'.

Cherish was also the inspiration behind an exciting licensing project, which we've been working so hard on. We designing a beautiful collection of wedding stationery and gift-ware featuring our whimsical illustrations and delicate fine art. However the biggest and most challenging was the design and layout of the wedding planner. Can you image the detail involved!

It took some time, but after months of hard work the pages are now complete and looking really beautiful. All Rosanna Rossi products will be launching at the NEC Spring Fair in February 2011. What an exciting start to 2011!

A big thank you to everyone who have supported me throughout 2010. I have so much to be grateful for, and have been lucky to have worked with such lovely people.

CHRISTMAS MESSAGE

Christmas Eve tomorrow - I'm still to do my food shop for Boxing Day pudding (i'm in charge of the dessert!) I plan to bake a surprise pudding with help from my favourite chef Jamie Oliver! My presents still need wrapping, and more often than not, i never have enough wrapping paper. Finally, i need to check what Christmas movies are on this year. This is the only time i actually sit down and relax, so i hope it's something worth watching.

Whatever your plans are, i hope you all have a fabulous Christmas.

LET IT SNOW. NOT TOO MUCH THOUGH

Sorry if you're fed up of hearing about the weather. Here in the UK, this is all we talk about. I too can't help blabbering on about how cold it is, and i'm slightly embarrassed to say that we really aren't prepared for such arctic conditions. With airports grounded, motor ways blocked, and schools closed, the UK seems to grind to a holt every time it sprinkles!

Some parts of the UK have seen more snow than others, and every morning i'm even more surprised at how white it all looks!

I take a circle route around my village every afternoon, and below are a few snap shots of what i see along the way. Welcome to Manor Road.

The local postman drop off our daily letters, and come hail or snow, he always wears shorts! How does he do it?

This is the first time i've seen a snow plough, and as soon as it drove past, i slipped. Not much of a safety precaution!

This is one of my favourite cottages on Manor Road, so cosy and festive.

Here's another one of my favourites. Look at how deep the snow is!

Just down the road is a farm, and next to the farm is a frozen lake that houses five very cold ducks. Huddling together is the best way to keep warm!

Oh and just in case you're unaware of the forecast, more snow is on its way. Take care and keep warm.

CHRISTMAS AND CHOCOLATE

Christmas is never the same without a big helping of chocolate! I made a big batch of Chocolate Truffles a few days ago. The recipe was kindly passed on to me by my boyfriends sister, all the way from Australia.

Surprisingly these little beauties were actually a topping for a chocolate cake. Imagine that naughty treat!

We had over 60 truffles by the time we finished! With toppings of flaked 70% Green & Blacks chocolate (my fav!) coconut flakes and chocolate all sorts.

We wrapped them up, tied a bow and gave each one away as homemade Christmas gifts.

They taste Amaaaazing!

FROZEN

These past few weeks have been mighty cold. So cold in fact, the temperature hasn't moved from below freezing for quite some weeks. We've seen snow and freezing fog, with temperatures as low as -11 degrees. Freeeezing!

However, the cold does have its advantages. Everything was frozen, which is a rare sight! I went on a walk this afternoon, and took some snap shots of the frozen countryside. It was like stepping out in to a freezer. It really was cold.

Thankfully we missed the worst of the bitter weather, and although it has caused so much havoc across the country, it does look incredibly pretty!

LIME AND YELLOW WEDDING THEME

Last year i was commissioned by a bride to design two Metallic Silver Waterlily Wedding Ring Pillows to complement her special day. I was so pleased she absolutely loved them, and i just had to feature her response.

The beautiful couple married in January 2010, and i've just stumbled upon her personal wedding blog, where she features the two ring pillows.

'While searching for the perfect ring pillows (I wanted a non-traditional ring pillow) online....Google gave me Anna Whitford based in London, UK!!!! She's a textile designer and does many other cool stuff other than ring pillows. These pillows were custom made with my own color preference and they came out GORGEOUS!!! It's like a couture ring pillow!!'

I'm so pleased she loves them, and it's such a complement when describing the ring pillows as 'couture'.

I also received a lovely email from a bride, who requested me to designer her an Ivory Primrose with blue ribbon ties. Similar to the image below.

UNION JACK WEDDING THEME

The union jack print seems to be everywhere at the moment. I even spotted a British bull dog Christmas ornament in Habitat last weekend, which looked pretty cool!

With the Royal Wedding set for Friday 29th April 2011, i thought i'd put together a British wedding theme for all those who are feeling rather patriotic. Wouldn't this be such a fun and rather stylish wedding theme!

A huge congratulations to Prince William and Kate Middleton on the long anticipated engagement announcement! The world now awaits to see just what plans they have for the Spring/Summer 2011 wedding. Without a doubt, it will be a spectacular event with intricate and immaculate detailing.

I already have my own ideas of the Royal Wedding, with a fine mix of rich gold, pearls, cream, hints of soft pink and finished with an array of sparkling diamonds! With this of course, are a choice of Anna Whitford's wedding ring pillows in shimmering gold and soft cream. Perfect!

The ring pillows were designed from past orders, and each one was bespoke to the brides wedding colour theme. I really enjoyed creating each mood board, and i hope it inspires you!

A ROOM WITH A VIEW

Oh yes...i've finally moved, and this is the view from my work window.

A very friendly herd of cows, a few black and white horses and a very big brown bull are my new neighbours. They shall all have a name by the end of the year!

I spent most of the weekend unpacking boxes, cleaning and reorganising my work space, with hope that i can finally get back into the swing of work this week. Hopefully i wont spend most of it starring out the window...

CALM AND CHAOS

Moving house can be rather stressful, however moving whilst simultaneously pack orders, putting together new catalogues and designing wedding ring pillows is definitely a challenge!

However, saying this, there is an air of calm about the house, which makes me slightly nervous. I don't think move has really hit me just yet, i mean it's not just moving house, it's moving business too!

I've spent all day packing greeting card orders, and tomorrow will be devoted to designing bespoke wedding ring pillows. I shall hopefully feature two of the ring pillows very soon, as the colour combinations chosen by the brides are so very sweet.

That's if i can find my camera!

These past few weeks have been a blur. I've been working on a number of interesting projects, which should come to light at the beginning of 2011.

My sister company Rosanna Rossi Greetings, is having an exciting revamp. I'm currently working on the new website, which means playing around with lots of designs and layouts. Great fun! Rosanna Rossi has come a long way since it's launch in 2009. (For those who are unaware, my talented mother and I joined forces and set up a greetings card company, who's name derives from our Italian roots.) Although Rosanna Rossi is only in its 2nd year of business, we're already working alongside a fab licensing company, and our greeting cards are branching out as far as Australia.

Saying this, it's incredibly hard work. A lot of time goes into every aspect of the business, and before you know it, weeks have flown by! We have agents across the UK who do a super job, and nothing beats receiving reorders from our buyers. Thank you!

To keep you in the loop, we're currently working on the cutest range of 1 -3 girl and boy birthday cards, with lots of fairies and glitter for the girls and action hero's for the boys. Alongside this, we're also building on our existing Wedding and Anniversary card collection titled 'Cherish'. A delicate range of love birds surrounded by blossom, glitter and pearl lace. Both collections are due to launch in January 2011.

I'm heading to our printers this week to over see our female age 13 - 90 birthday cards. I'm especially excited about this range, as not only will they sparkle with tonnes of glitter (which i personally love!) they are also now printed on a fab Italian board, and presented with a complementing bright fuchsia envelope. I never thought i would get so excited over card and envelopes!

I received some stunning wedding images from a bride who commissioned me to design an ivory primrose wedding ring pillow with zebra ribbon ties.

As the bride was from South Africa, she wanted to feature a zebra print to the special day, and it works so beautifully. I absolutely LOVE the zebra print detailing on the wedding cake and of course the ring pillow! It all looks so fabulous.

THE SHOW

I spent the past 4 days in London trading at the home and gift show Top Drawer.
It was so good to step away from the computer and meet customers face to face. After all, it is the best way to get lots of feedback!

Our greeting card company, Rosanna Rossi, launched two exciting new ranges of occasion and birthday cards, which went down really well! The quality of the photos i took didn't come out very well...oops. I blame the spot lights!

So i've added just a few of the fab licensing work taken from our Florini and Bella Donna collections.

Thank you to everyone that came to see us, especially those who traveled to the UK to visit the show! We're now working on building our existing collections as well as designing new. Looking forward to getting back behind the computer....!

I've received lots of requests from brides asking for a bespoke wedding ring pillow. This one pictured below was a request from a bride who's wedding colour theme is Gold, chocolate and latte. So i designed a striking metallic Waterlily on a champagne pillow, which i think looks stunning.

*I've also been busy preparing to trade at Top Drawer in London from 12-14th September, and i'm still not 100% ready! I'll be heading to London tomorrow to begin dressing my stand with bright colours. I shall of course take some snap shots along the way...Oooh and i'll be seeing Muse live at Wembley tomorrow evening, which im super excited about!

One of our exciting new female birthday cards were featured in the September issue of Greetings Today Magazine.

We are also featured in the Essential Guide magazine, which was distributed to over 45,000 buyers across the UK prior to the Home and Gift trade show Top Drawer 12-14th September.

I never thought i'd say this, but i'm so looking forward to setting up our stand! We have lots of bright and beautiful products ready to launch. Including a range of A6 notebooks, and stylish mugs taken from our greeting card ranges.

I am also super excited as Peter Cross, the leading name in retail and shopping consultancy, has been confirmed as the keynote speaker at Top Drawer. Peter's business partner is TV personality Mary Portas, and his clients range from Louis Vuitton, Westfield London and Swarovski. Wow.

I was approached by a bride who's wedding theme incorporated the fabulous black and white zebra pattern. She found a zebra ribbon for the ring ties, which i think works really well! Black and white is so classic, with a modern zebra print twist. I love this idea.

Back in May i was asked by a lovely Russian journalist to be featured in their glossy Home Magazine. Of course i obliged.

Yesterday i received a copy of the article. It visually looks fab, although sadly i am unable to fully translate it! However, to find out a little more about my work, the journalist fired me with a few questions.

1. When and why did you start to work on your collection of pillows?
I started designing wedding ring pillows in 2005, after a request from a bride who asking me to design a bespoke ring pillow for her wedding day. At the time i was manufacturing high quality, hand made interior accessories for independent retailers, and interior designers. However, after receiving such a positive response from the bride and her guests, i began designing a whole range, featuring a variety of floral styles that matched brides specifications.

You said you made your first wedding pillow in 2005. Is it the same design that you offer now?
I began by designing soft furnishing accessories. I created sculptural flowers embellished on cushions, curtain tie backs, throws, wall hangings etc. These sold throughout independent retailers across the UK, and also commissions from interior designers. The creations inspired one customer to commission a floral ring pillow for her wedding.

Please tell me how did you chose your 5 styles. Why the 5 flowers?
The flowers i designed initially were the Gerbera, Waterlily and Daisy. These were the most popular and favoured styles requested from my buyers and interior designers. Also i chose flowers that are identifiable through the technique of hand sculpting the fabric, and of course those that are popular in wedding bouquets.

The most popular style continues to be the classic Gerbera in ivory, with its soft rounded petals and symmetrical form.

2. How can you describe your own work?
I originally trained as a textile designer, and in a small way i still title myself as this. I design and produce bespoke wedding ring pillows for private customers. Each ring pillow is made by hand, and therefore they are unique and individual. The ring pillows are bespoke to each customer, who can opt to choose a flower and colour to suit her wedding theme. This is an added appeal to my customers as they love that unique touch.

3. What material do you use?
It took me a while to source the right type of fabric for the flower as i hand sculpted each one. The fabric is sourced from abroad, and is a very high quality faux suede which is incredibly durable. The underlying petals are made from felted wool, and the pillow base is a silk dupion. The pillows are feather filled padded.

4. What is the most exciting part of creating a wedding pillows?
I love the stage when i'm padding the pillow, as suddenly the flower comes alive. However, nothing will beat the response i receive from the brides. I'm so proud to have contributed to their special day. A lot of my customers contact me with the sweetest email. They tell me how beautiful it is, and that it will be placed in prime position in their living room or bedroom. I love knowing that the ring pillow holds a special memorable value, and the response i receive makes the whole process so incredibly worth while.

MARRAKESH

Last week two good friends and i spent a week in the city of Marrakesh, which is also known as the 'Red City.'

After only 3 hours by plane, and a 30 minute trip by taxi to our riad, we found ourselves in the middle of a bustling, colourful and very warm city. I loved it already.

Our riad (a house or palace with a garden) was situated at the end of many winding alleyways.

Like many door knockers in Marrakesh, ours was a symbol of the hand, meaning protection. It was made from solid iron, and etched with detailed decoration.

The court yard was so beautiful, and as we visited during their hottest season, we had the place to ourselves! perfect.

The bathroom was titled with colourful pattern and the walls were washed with terracotta; to match the vibrant colours of Marrakesh.

The midday sun was too warm to go exploring, so we bathed in the cold pool for a few hours.

However, by late afternoon the streets came alive with motorbikes, donkey-carts and market traders.

We visited the souks, otherwise known as the markets, which is renowned for their amazing selection of products.

Walking through the streets you're hit with the sweet smell of herbs and spices. I noticed a distinct scent of saffron, mint, rose, cumin and star anise, which was all so lovely!

I was amazed with the sheer quantity of products displayed in the tiniest of spaces. From floor to ceiling were colourful rows of shoes, beads, rugs, bags and ceramics. They really know how to attract attention!

The streets were packed with mind-boggling distractions and labyrinthine alleyways, however there were a few that were very peaceful, and it was these quiet alleyways that we found tiny kittens curled up asleep.

If only i could have sneaked one in my pocket!

The courtyard of our riad was home to a family of birds, and this was a baby bird who fell out of its nest. It was very tame and throughout the whole week it sat near our door chirping (sometimes a little too early in the morning!)

*We stayed at Riad Shemsi. I highly recommend staying here if you decide to visit. Very welcoming, relaxing and clean...and served very tasty food!

'A visit to wonderful Marrakech at least once in a lifetime is a must. Most who go do so again, so magnetic is the attraction of this magical city in the heart of Morocco with the unique historic ambience and exhilarating cultural contrast.'

ANNIVERSARY

Boyfriend and i celebrated out anniversary over the weekend. It was one year ago that he flew back from Australia so that we could be together.

We took a trip to the picturesque town of Painswick, which is often referred to as the 'Queen of the Cotswolds' due to it's fine buildings of pale grey limestone.

We passed the oldest post office in England, which dates back to the 15th century.

This rusty bike stood opposite the post office looks just as old!

We then visited the really pretty Painswick Rococo Gardens, famed for its flamboyant and sensual period of English Garden Design.

The Exedra stands proud over its herbaceous borders and the Kitchen Garden below.

The Anniversary Maze was first planted in 2000 to celebrate the 250th birthday of the Garden. It was designed by a Painswickian and is unusual as it has three goals you have to reach.

We only reached one, as lots of sneazing got in the way...heyfever isn't fun when you're lost in a maze!

BLUE SKY AND BLOSSOM

May is one of my favourite months of the year. The blossom is in full bloom, the leaves are vivid green and the days are longer. I went for a long walk across the English countryside over the weekend, and it was the first weekend of beautiful, warm weather so far this year.

I wish that i took a picture of the thousands of seeds pouring from the blossom trees. They were floating everywhere.

I stopped at the Cotswold village of Stanton to sit at the only pub for an iced drink. The Mount Inn is situated at the top of this hill, and its views across the roof tops are really pretty.

We're not used to seeing the sun shine so bright, and although i burnt my shoulders (which was a really silly thing to do.) I hope it stays with us a little longer....please.

My lovely friend is 8 months pregnant and looking FAB!

To celebrate her little bump, a group of us gathered together to shower her with lots of gorgeous baby girl gifts.

She was greeted with lots of colourful cards, cute toy animals, baby accessories, clothes and fabulous floral prints.

I took a trip to London on Saturday, and whilst browsing my favourite store Liberty, i spotted this adorable china pig money box.

The store was preparing for a fabulously flowery event to celebrate their summer of Flower Power, and so a number of products were embellished with their famous floral prints...including this pretty little pig!

INTRODUCING

our little garden robin...

Every year we have a variety of birds that nest in our garden. The Blue Tits, Black Birds and Pigeons return to nest in the same area as the previous year.

So many birds come and go every spring, yet i never manage to see them fledge their nest.

We placed this thatched wooden bird box at the bottom of our garden last winter, and this year it was inhabited by a family of Robins. Again, i didn't get to see a single one...up until now.

I first noticed this little inquisitive Robin whilst sat on our garden seat last week. It basked in the sun just a few feet from me.

I spotted the Robin again perched on the edge of our gate as i was opening it, but instead of flying away, it followed me to the car.

And today whilst digging, little Robin dug beside me, catching all the tiny worms and spiders. I think i've found a friend.

I had to include this picture. It's been the Blue Tits nesting box for quite some years now, which i'm sure you can tell. The base fell off a few weeks ago, so we stuck it back on with my parcel tape. DIY genius (?)
The Blue Tits don't seem to mind.

FOCUSING ON CREATIVITY

As i mentioned in previous posts, my mum and i collaborated with the licensing company, Junction Eighteen last year. Since then we've been busy designing a range of gorgeous gift and stationery products, which are due to launch next month. How very exciting!

We are pleased to be featured in this months issue of Greetings Today Magazine. It's fantastic to see our designs on gift ware just one year on, and with help from Gaye and her team, our dream of branching out into alternative products has become reality.

'Gaye approached new company Rosanna Rossi during its first year of trading. The results are terrific and of high quality.'

COASTAL WALK

I'm still sorting through my photographs from our weekend trip to Devon.
Other than eating lots of bbq food, our days were spent doing my favourite activity...exploring.
We walked what must have been over 7 miles along the beautiful coastal route from Woolacombe to the lighthouse (pictured below) at Bull Point.

Miraculously the sun was being kind to us that day, and kept us warm throughout the whole journey.

The coastal track seemed to go on forever, but hunger and sore feet kicked in. I'm no good to anyone without food and silly trainers that rub my feet! I'll definitely return to explore more some day soon (but this time with walking boots and a packed lunch.)

THE BEACH

My boyfriend and i took a weekend trip to Woolacombe, North Devon with two friends. After dropping our bags off, we spent the afternoon messing around by the sea, and it was great fun.

Sometimes i forget just how picturesque our beaches are.

We played beach cricket till the sun came down, which i had never played before (and it really showed!) I wasn't the best at throwing the ball, bowling, or batting for that matter, but it was fun playing by the sea.

TAKING A BREAK

A few friends and i are off to Woolacombe for a long weekend. Apparently i visited the same coastline when i was a small girl, but as my memory is so terrible, i don't remember! We're setting off early tomorrow morning with our bbq and lots of food (of course!)
Come rain or shine i'm taking a little break away....

These past few months have been extra busy. With LOTS of brides getting married, i've set aside a good few days designing wedding ring pillows. I've also been busy completing a brand new range of 12 greeting cards, which are set to launch in the next few months. (hurrah.)
We've also been super busy desiging a new range of wedding products, which is still in the very early stages. I'm so eager to see the finished samples, even though i haven't yet put pen to paper...!

I've come to realise that packing greeting cards takes up a lot of time!

WEEKEND

It was so sunny over the weekend, and whilst my boyfriend played cricket all day Sunday, i went for a mammoth country walk. I also spent time designing a range of wedding ring pillow orders for my brides.

Amongst them was an order for a Metallic Silver Waterlily with deep purple satin ribbons, and a Cream Primrose. Although the ring pillows don't match, the colour combination used work really well together.

BUTTERFLY DESIGNS

Our popular butterfly design, taken from the Florini collection, was featured in this months Progressive Greetings Magazine. Butterflies have been a huge hit with greeting cards and are a great alternative to flowers. You can reproduce them in any shape, colour and form to make them your own. We've incorporated a number of butterflies in our new Spring range, which is due to launch in the next few months...so excited!

Here is another wedding ring pillow, which i have just completed. The bride requested a bright fuchsia for the Waterlily underlay petals and ribbon ties. I love her choice of flower and fresh colour combination. This will suit a summer wedding beautifully.

A NEW ROMANTIC FLOWER

Roses are known and treasured as symbols of Love and Beauty, and is a suited choice for a romantic wedding theme.

I designed this particular cream and pink rose for a bride, who's wedding theme is a 'Vintage Tea Party' with lots of roses. So i created a NEW rose flower to co-ordinate with her vintage rose theme. I hope you like it!

I've noticed a huge array of colour and pattern appearing since Spring arrived. I love the clashing of hues and patterns on all sorts of stationery and gift ware. Here are just a few of what i spotted in shops just today...

It's been a busy week. Again.

I've been designing lots of wedding ring pillows for brides, packing and dispatching greeting cards, designing an exciting new range and completing lots of paper work. Hmm.

In between this, mum experimented with collage on canvas. She is a fine artist/illustrator who paints quite intricate art work. However, she tried her hand at something a little more experimental using a mixture of fabrics, paper and paint. She really enjoyed it!

I think it looks really great, i love the bright and cheerful colours, and will look fantastic framed.
