AMONG THE STREETS

London is great when approaching Christmas. I love seeing what new ideas retailers come up with for their window displays, and the streets never fail to impress with amazing Christmas decorations.

This year, a very popular and well known street in London, Oxford Street, devoted their lights to the new 3D Disney adaptation of the classic Charles Dickens story A Christmas Carol. One of my favorite areas, not far from Oxford Street is Carnaby Street. By the 1960s, Carnaby Street proved popular for followers of both the Mod and hippy styles, and still is known as one of the best places to shop.

The centre piece of this year's Carnaby Christmas lights is a series of six metre high inflatable decorations that convey the 1960s message of love, joy, hope and peace. Alongside a collection of inflatable hot pink reindeers and suspended Christmas trees, the '60s festive lights definitely brightened up the street with lots of glittering shades.

The reason i headed to this part of London was to visit the new Anthropology store in Regent Street. I absolutely loved their Christmas window display featuring Alice in Wonderlands wintery tea party.

The detail in the textiles and clothes were really eye-catching.

A large whale hangs above a wintery table display. Very fun!

An amazing display of greenery covers the whole of the back wall.

Little robin hides amongst snowy branches. Thought it looked quite cute!

WORK WORK

Has it really been over a week since my last post? How did that happen?
I have lots to feature, but very little spare time to play with at the moment. I promise to tell you all very soon! I'm working towards a very tight deadline and because of this, i'm going to bed and waking at a silly hour! Although i'm beginning to like working before the nation is fully awake, as it's somewhat very calming. I'm sure i'll be back to normal soon!

(I'm heading to London this weekend and will stop by the new Anthropology store for lots of inspiration. Very excited! Camera will be on hand.)

I think this represents me pretty well at the moment.

AGE BIRTHDAY CARDS

Since the launch of our 'Complimenti' age range in January 09, we have now introduced a 70 and 80 to the popular collection. The full range was featured in this months issue of Progressive Greetings magazine.

I love this range as it's so bright and cheerful, and the ages sparkles with glitter making it look really special.

A BREAK TO BUDAPEST

Two friends and i headed to Budapest last week to celebrate our 30th birthdays.
We stayed in a rather fancy hotel...

and had the swimming pool all to ourselves!
The weather was really chilly and although we wrapped up warm, we sheltered in a delicious bakery for a few hours with a huge mug of hot chocolate and cakes. We strolled around the historical region and Gellert Hill on Buda side and visited some fantastic museums and architecture, including the dramatic Parliament building. The 19th century neo-Gothic Parliament building is Budapest's best known landmark and the third largest Parliament building in the world. The building lights up at night which looks stunning!Budapest is also home to the second largest Synagogue and its interiors were breathtaking.Trams are the best and easiest form of transport in the centre of Budapest. Although sadly we didn't travel on any as we struggled with its destinations! oops.
The best part of Budapest were their stunning spa's. We were really impressed with this one as it boasts a huge outdoor natural thermal pool, a jacuzzi, many sauna's, steam rooms and an area to sit back, relax and play chess...well why not!

BACK FROM BUDAPEST

I flew back on Friday the 13th with the most erratic landing in the history of me flying. My sick bag was on hand. We finally arrived safe and sound (phew) and will be sure to feature pics of my best bits this week. I had a lovely time.

I'm off to my friends daughters Christening this afternoon and am looking forward to catching up with some good friends. In the meantime, below are a few pics taken just before we left for the airport back to London. We spotted the cutest little delicatessens on the corner of our block and felt rude not to visit.

It was the sweetest shop with the tastiest green tea and croissant.

SIGNING OFF FOR A WEEK

I've been silly busy designing a new range of wedding and anniversary cards in preparation for Top Drawer trade show in January. But with the Christmas holidays in the way (how very annoying!) everything is of immediate attention.

A number of our designs have now been licensed and will be featured on many gift lines such as ceramics, wedding albums, note books and eco shopping bags. I'm currently working on the layout for these and am really excited to see the finished products! I will let you know as soon as i receive the first samples.

Finally, two very good friends and i are flying to Budapest early tomorrow morning.

I've been so busy that i haven't had time to research the city. I do know that it's famous for their spa's and is often called 'The City of Spa's', and after viewing this image of Budapest by night, it looks like a beautiful place to be.

My camera will follow me where ever i go, so i shall be sure to post you lots of pics in a weeks time. Have a lovely week. x

PLAYING FANCY DRESS

I hope you all had a scary Halloween weekend.
I dressed as a little black cat. I loved wearing a short black wig for the occasion, although i was pleased to have my curly hair back by the end of the evening!

Black cat posing with Bailey the dog.Troy was Michael Jackson for the night. That really was scary!
It was really fun playing fancy dress for the night, and everyone made such an effort. I'm looking forward to next years costumes already!
