PASSIONATE ABOUT RING PILLOWS

I'm so pleased as my wedding ring cushions are put in the spot light once again! Two fantastic wedding blogs have featured my work together with a lovely write-up.
The creator behind The Bride's Cafe featured quite a selection of my hand sculpted floral ring cushions followed by an enthusiastic comment...

'...these are all SO beautiful and SO charming! The perfect cushion for your Ring Bearer....so head over to Anna's site and check out more of her collection....the color palettes are so delicious!'

Duet is another beautiful and inspiring US wedding blog who also featured a selection of my floral ring cushions.

'I am absolutely loving Anna Whitford's gorgeous ring pillow designs right now.'

She also mentioned that as all ring cushions are created by hand, the brides-to-be are able to pick and choose their own colour and style flower to suit the individual needs.

It's great to see such passion for the pillows...Thank you!

ALL IN WHITE

A customer from the USA commissioned me to make an all white Gerbera Wedding Ring Cushion, which i have just completed. Strangely, i haven't made an all white Gerbera before, and after making this one, it looks so effective! There's nothing better than a crisp, white wedding ring cushion that will complement the bride, bridesmaids and the wedding flowers...

'I feel so fortunate to have come across your pillows. My daughter has been looking for a beautiful ring cushion and LOVES gerberas--this fits the bill on both counts--sophisticated and still fun!! Customer Comment.

AS SEEN ON...

The creator behind The Handcrafted Wedding blog wrote a lovely little feature about my handcrafted accessories a few days ago. It was mentioned that all Anna Whitford products can be used for weddings in one way or another. Whether it be a unique handcrafted his and hers cushion for their new home, colourful floral corsages for the bridesmaids, or a bespoke wedding ring cushion to hold the wedding rings.

Whatever you choose, the pretty floral accessories are a great memoir of the special day for many years thereafter.

AS SEEN ON...

A huge thanks to the fantastic wedding blog, Fairmount Bride for featuring a selection on my hand sculpted, floral accessories

'Her pillow designs would definitely do the trick, adding a nice pop of color, to my otherwise monochromatic couch!'

My thoughts exactly! This is just how i envisage my customers to use these cheerful creations. They were specifically designed to add splashes of colour and 3-dimensional pattern to your home, bringing the outside-in, where they can forever bloom!

PRETTY IN PINK

A customer in California ordered a bespoke Primrose Wedding Ring Cushion for her wedding in Hawaii. Her wedding colour scheme is coral with shades of green and pink. We finally decided on a soft pink ring cushion complemented with a cream primrose. It looks really pretty and wish her all the best for her wedding - look forward to some pics soon!

WEDDING CORSAGES...

I've just completed an order for a customer in the US. She commissioned me to make a selection of chocolate suede and metallic gold Primrose corsages for her bridesmaids. I left the backs of the flowers clasp free so that she can attach her own brooch bar or hair clip. She promises to send me a photo of the Primroses worn on the wedding day - i really can't wait to see what they will look like!

MR & MRS...

After a mountain of preparation leading up to the big day, my sister and her fiancé exchanged wedding vows and finally became Mr & Mrs!

My sis looked so stunning in her Grecian style wedding dress, made from soft pink and ivory silk tulle. The three bridesmaids (me being one) wore a soft pistachio figure hugging dress with a waist tie. We arrived 30 minutes late due to a little panic with the wedding dress corset! But everything turned out fantastic in the end. I promise to add a collage of lovely images as soon as they are ready. It's always so much better to share the wedding day with lots of colourful photographs!

But for now, i'll give you a taster with an image of their wedding ring cushion against a bouquet of pink and cream roses.

CUSTOMER COMMENT...

I had an order from a bride-to-be who requested a Cream Primrose Wedding Ring Cushion for her December wedding. She set up a Wedding blog, titled Peter-Maria. It's a lovely blog all about the build-up to their special day...

Her comment made me smile: '...the ring bearer pillow. It's pretty pricey and you have to order from the UK but it's worth it. I'll get my moneys worth by using it as a throw pillow for our sofa or something. Whatever, I'm getting it.'

I love her attitude! It's also great knowing that she will use the ring cushion as a home accessory after the wedding day!

AS SEEN ON...

A huge thank you to Mackenzie for featuring four of my hand sculpted floral wedding ring cushions on her gorgeous wedding blog Something Old Something New.

I've received a fantastic response since the the features and am incredibly appreciative of all your kind words and emails! As i mention in the past, it's fantastic knowing that i'm adding something a little extra special to the big day! A wedding ring cushion, made specifically for you is unique and incredibly special...

If you spot a floral design that you love, but would like it to match the colour of your wedding scheme. Please contact me and i will design a bespoke ring cushion especially for you!

WEDDING RING CUSHIONS...NEW DESIGNS

I am pleased to announce three new floral wedding ring cushion designs!

The first is inspired by the dome structure of a Dahlia flower. I wanted to keep the round formation quite petite so as to hold its delicate structure. Like all the floral ring cushions, at the centre of the Dahlia are two satin ribbons, which ties his and her wedding rings.
The petite Dahlia flower is so elegant...

The Daisy is one of my staple flower designs and have finally added the design my wedding ring cushion collection. I have also introduced a baby blue, as i have found this to be a very popular wedding colour. The Blue Daisy is hand sculpted on a soft white silk dupoin, with two white satin ribbons presenting the wedding rings.

As the rose is the most popular flower used in wedding floral displays, it would be silly of me not to introduce the flower to my collection! Below is a simple white rose hand sculpted on a white silk dupion. The simplicity of colours and the ruffled petals makes this one of my favourite flower designs...

WHAT I BOUGHT TODAY...

Boy At Bat, Havana
Back in 2003 i visited The Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney, and saw the amazing photographic work of Wim Wenders. The sheer scale of his photographs took over the walls engulfing you with panoramic shots of landscapes and cities, architecture and nature. One of the images that stood out was the Boy At Bat, Havana. I stood for a while examining the image of the little boy with his cool red cap and jacket, poised ready to strike. The sheer concentration on his face made me wonder whether he did hit that ball, and if so, how did the two react after?

A copy of the photograph is framed and displayed on my bedroom wall, and is still one of my favorite images...

'The two of them
played with a piece of wood for a bat,
and a ball made out of rags.
They were very serious about baseball.
All Cubans are.
They are the most elegant players.'

I finally bought his book on amazon today and am really looking forward to seeing more of his amazing work!

BEAUTIFUL ILLUSTRATIONS...

Today I came across beautiful works of an Australian designer, Tabitha Emma. I fell in love with her elegant illustrations, in particular the floral teacups and scrumptious cupcakes!
Tabitha also makes gorgeous purses based on her illustrations, all of which are for sale on Etsy!

I love the decorative stacked teacups with added tea stains!

HEN NIGHT CELEBRATIONS

Dressing up is great fun!

A group of us headed to two fantastic London hot spots to celebrate my sisters hen night over the weekend. We traveled to London Saturday morning all merry after too many Love Heart sweets and bubbles. After checking in to our hotel, out came the satin corsets, vibrant red lipstick, lashings of black mascara, fascinators, feathers and heels!

All glammed up we jumping into our taxi and headed to our first Bar 'Lounge Lover'. The decor was a definite talking point, with stuffed monkeys, tigers, swans and giraffe swathed in necklaces (hope they weren't real!) Gigantic wine glasses filled with bejeweled fruit underneath an impressive collection of chandeliers...

After sampling a range of delicious cocktails, we headed to Volupte Lounge where we spent the rest of the night eating and drinking whilst watching a fantastic burlesque cabaret show...oh what a night!
