SEX AND THE CITY...

A title on Jaimee Rose's Blog made me smile today.

'If Carrie Bradshaw was a throw pillow...this is what she'd be'

Yes, i fully agree! We all know how flamboyant Carrie Bradshaw's wardrobe is, and having seen that huge floral corsage she worn in the new series, it too reminded me of my over-sized floral interior accessories. I'm certain Carrie would love these sculpted cushions just as much as her extravagant dresses....and would no doubt have one in every colour!

POWERFUL PATTERNS...

I am one of those who hoards piles of interior magazines, as i believe you never know when you might need a boost of instant inspiration! And today i did just that. I spotted a piece of furniture from an old edition of Elle Decoration Magazine, which i also recognised in Liberty not so long ago. For those in search of something quirky, Squint is a vintage furniture store in London where you'll find recovered furniture in brightly coloured vintage patchwork fabrics. Lisa Whatmough is the design-maker behind the fabulous furniture, and what's most exciting is that you won't find any two pieces the same - you can choose from chaises longues, chairs, lamps, bedspreads and mirrors.

I absolutely love her style!

SHOES SHOES SHOES...

This feature is for (most probably every girl) who adores shoes! The very talented graphic designer, Lisa Bengtsson has created the most impressive wallpaper featuring an array of monochrome SHOES! The repeat shoe pattern lends itself to a stylish room, perfect as a feature on one wall with a display of stacked shoe boxes or against vibrant interior accessories....it looks so eye-catching!

WEDDING COOKIES & GIRLIE FAVOURS...

A cute cookie arrived through the letter box this morning (if only that happened every day!) It was sent by a specialist cake company Pat-a-Cake. What's so great about these personalised cookies is that not only do they make ideal wedding favours, but if positioned on an elegant napkin, they can also be used as decorative names tags for the wedding tables...and can be taken away as a keepsake - if it hasn't already been eaten!

£2.85 per cookie

EVENING PAINTING...

Every evening my dad clears the kitchen table and lays out his paint, brushes and canvases and begins painting for a good few hours. When the landscapes are finished, he knocks a nail in the hallway wall and displays the canvases one by one. As you can imagine, their hallway is covered with colour, thick brush strokes and loose landscape scenes. I thought it would be a nice idea to take a few shots of his work (although a photograph from a digital camera doesn't do the original artwork justice!) Here are just a few of his experimental artistic pieces...

SNOWY SPRING - TAKE TWO

I had one of those moments this morning when you're suddenly woken by someone telling you to "Look Outside!" So, i bolted out of bed and opened my blinds to a spectacular view of white snow. The sun was shining, the sky hadn't a cloud in sight and the snow was beaming. Before the sun had a chance to melted the white stuff, i grabbed my camera, put on my wellies and ran out to take a few snap shots of the garden. It was so lovely to see first thing in the morning...even if it was an abrupt awakening!
